Construction All Risk – Fire in Italy

Fire at school construction site with a total loss of 1.3 Million EUR, caused by lightning striking a wooden structure under construction.

IES coordinated the destruction and debris removal operations, whilst preserving the undamaged underground systems. This allowed the Local Municipality (the site Owner and Insured) to resume construction of the school in a very short period.

IES reviewed potential liabilities for the loss and identified weaknesses in the project’s Risk Analysis relating to the possibility of lightning striking the building.
